Inplace is a mobile application designed to help users organize and manage storage spaces, boxes, and personal items.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when using the Inplace application.

2. Data Storage and Local Processing
Inplace is designed with a local-first approach.
The information you create in the app is primarily stored locally on your device, including:
- Spaces and locations
- Boxes and their descriptions
- Notes and inventory information
- Photos attached to boxes
- App preferences and settings
This information is not automatically uploaded to external servers.
3. Photos and Camera Access
Inplace may request access to:
- Your camera, to take photos of boxes or storage areas
- Your photo library, to attach existing images to boxes
Photos remain stored on your device unless you explicitly export or share them using the app's export or backup features.
Inplace does not access your photos outside the images you intentionally select or capture within the app.
4. Analytics
Inplace uses anonymous analytics tools, including Mixpanel, to better understand how the app is used and improve the user experience.
The collected analytics data may include:
- App interactions and feature usage
- Number of spaces or boxes created
- Navigation flows
- App performance and stability information
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
Inplace does not collect or analyze the content of your inventory, notes, descriptions, or photos for analytics purposes.
Analytics information is processed in an aggregated and pseudonymized manner and is not intended to directly identify users.
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your local data directly from your device.
5. Exports and Backups
Inplace may allow you to export your inventory in formats such as:
- CSV
- JSON
- ZIP backup files
These exports are generated locally on your device.
You decide where to store or share exported files, including third-party services such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, email, or other file storage providers.
Inplace does not automatically receive or store exported files.
6. Cloud Features
At the time of this version, Inplace does not provide account-based cloud synchronization or remote cloud storage.
If cloud backup or synchronization features are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features become active.
7. Third-Party Services
Inplace may rely on third-party services necessary for app functionality and analytics, including:
- Mixpanel (analytics)
- Apple iOS services
- Google Android services
- Native file picker and sharing systems
These services operate under their own privacy policies.
8. Data Retention
Because data is primarily stored locally on your device, retention is controlled by you.
Your data remains available until:
- You delete it manually
- You uninstall the app
- You overwrite it by restoring another backup
Inplace does not currently maintain remote copies of your inventory data.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:
- The right to access your data
- The right to correct your data
- The right to delete your data
- The right to data portability
- The right to object to certain processing activities
Since most information is stored locally on your device, you maintain direct control over your data.

10. Security
Inplace relies on your device's built-in security systems, including operating system protections and device encryption when enabled.
While reasonable care is taken to design secure software, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for protecting access to their own devices and backup files.
11. Children's Privacy
Inplace is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. International Transfers
Some third-party services used by Inplace, such as analytics providers, may process data outside your country of residence.
Where applicable, such providers are responsible for complying with relevant legal frameworks regarding international data transfers.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or future features.
Updated versions will be published on the official Inplace website and/or within the application.
